About the event
What’s real? What’s not? And what actually makes the blues… the blues?
Wind Gap Music is excited to bring something a little different to our community with an afternoon dedicated to exploring the roots, authenticity, and evolution of the blues.
Fulbright Lecturer and Composer Antonio Underwood will lead us through the African American origins of the blues, the techniques and traditions that shaped the genre, and the ways the blues has evolved and influenced the music we know today.
But we’re not stopping at talking about it.
Following the clinic, Tone Pulse, Antonio Underwood, Bassell Franks and Nathan Biedzyski will take the stage for a live performance, putting those ideas into practice and letting you hear the history, technique, and evolution of the blues come to life.
Musicians, music students, blues fans, curious listeners, and anyone who simply wants to understand the music a little more deeply are welcome. You…
